Boating in the Charlotte Harbor area in Southwest Florida

Charlotte Harbor affords Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte some of the best boating adventures anywhere. Its 120 square miles of water, its easy access to the Gulf of Mexico, and its inland passages at northern and southern ends make it a boater's and fisherman's paradise. Many boaters enjoy the different scenery and wildlife when they navigate up to the freshwater environments of the Myakka River and Peace River. A favorite watering hole of boaters on the Peace River is the Nav-A-Gator bar and grill, which offers fresh seafood, including the famous Super Grouper Sandwich.

Where the rivers flow into the upper harbor between Port Charlotte and Punta Gorda, boaters will find a few square miles of harbor with good protection from winds coming from almost any direction. Further south, in the lower harbor, are wide expanses where powerful engines can really open up and sailers can set a course and take a break. The lower harbor offers excellent fishing, exploration and wildlife viewing among the mangrove islands that thrive along the fringes.

To the south, Pine Island Sound offers world-class fishing, excellent waterfront restaurants, and access to two of our fantastic local parks, the Ding Darling Wildlife Refuge and Cayo Costa State Park.

All of us at Punta Gorda Yacht Brokers are boaters who enjoy fishing, sailing, and cruising the local waters, and we have the knowledge and experience to help you find the perfect boat to live your dream. Contact us today!
